Appointments and Fees
Initial consultation
This complimentary 20-minute phone or video call gives us a chance to explore what you'd like support with. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for my therapeutic approach and ask any questions. If we both feel we’re a good fit, we can schedule an assessment to begin working together.
Assessment
The assessment may span one or more appointments depending on how much you want to work on. I will send you an information form to complete prior to assessment. Completing this form helps me to understand more about you in advance and can save time during the appointment(s).
During the assessment appointment, I will ask about what you are finding difficult, what may have influenced this recently and/or historically, and how you would like things to change (your therapy goals). One of the primary aims of the assessment phase is to start making sense of your experiences in a way that feels validating and normalising of your difficulties. I will create a psychological ‘formulation’ to this end which I will share with you.
There’s no obligation to continue therapy sessions after the assessment. It's an opportunity to see if this approach feels like a good fit, and it is also a useful intervention in its own right.
Regular therapy sessions
If you’d like to continue working with me, we can arrange a regular time for ongoing therapy. Therapy sessions take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis to support consistent progress.
At the start of each session, we’ll work together to set an agenda that reflects your goals and priorities. That may involve exploring patterns, developing new skills, or making sense of difficult experiences. I will share resources that are relevant to your needs, and it is usually helpful for us to collaboratively agree tasks for you to practise in between sessions so that you get the most out of our work together. At the end of each session, I ask for your feedback to ensure the pace, tone, and other aspects of therapy are working for you.
Insurance
I am a recognised provider with AXA Health, Aviva, WPA, and Vitality, meaning you may be able to access therapy with me through your health insurance.
